Restriction=PAIN????

Help me out, veteran bandsters. I did a day of liquids and last night we went out to dinner. Fajitas and I could barely choke down one steak fajita. I didn't vomit, or feel like I had to.... But it hurt like the devil going down. This pain in the middle of my shoulder blades, WTF is that???? I'm hungry, but it hurts too bad to eat! I know I have to eat something, but I can't live on protein drinks forever!!! Help!!! Will it loosen up, or is this what real restriction is and I should just deal with it?

My PA who did the fill said my day should consist of a cup of coffee, two small meals and maybe a high protein snack. If it's going to continue like this, looks like coffee is going to be my best friend!

Now, don't get me wrong....it's great that I can't eat normal quantities anymore, but should it be this painful???

  1. #1 did you try to eat the tortilla too? That could have been the source of the pain. Too big of bite can do it too. Slow down, small bites, and chew chew chew. I am a sucker for mexican, but I have been ordering fajita nachos without the chips. That boils down to the meat and veggies covered in cheese sauce. I can eat about 1/2 of a half order.

  2. Yes, I think you're right. The tortilla. I had some today, and I kind of peiced it together, a bite at a time and it seemed to help.

    Breaded chicken, I'm learning, is the devil. As are any type of rolls. Damn, that sucks. Oh well. A Chick Fil A sandwich, or a long happy life with my family. Easy choice.

  3. Yeah, bread and tortillas are a thing of the past for me. I can take a little nibble or two, but any more and my chest goes OW!!!!

    That's OK, I can handle life without bread (I hope, LOL).

    At Chick-Fil-A, I just get the grilled chicken sandwich and ask for it without the bun. It's cheaper that way too! I still have to eat it slowly. Chicken for me is both the bane and boon of my band. It LOVES to get stuck, but when I eat it slowly and chew, it keeps me more full than just about any other food.

    Chick-Fil-A is one of the few fast-food places that we ever go to, because I can take the kids and my laptop and let them play in the cool indoor playspace for a while and work of some of their crazy energy while I get some work done. :)

  4. I'm guessing it was the tortilla also - It gums up and gets stuck. I've learned that popcorn is out of the picture for me - It took 2 days to get over that pain.
